Consulting

Lab consulting services

Practical help from someone with over a decade in cannabis and a GMP/SQF quality background.

Lab design & setup

Planning lab layout, material flow and utilities for an extraction space, coordinated with engineers and code requirements.

Support equipment diagnostics & repair

Hands-on diagnosis and repair of chillers, recovery pumps and compressors, heaters, water pumps and other support equipment. I can fix most mechanical issues in house to cut downtime.

System teardown, leak repair & rebuilds

Full teardown of closed-loop hydrocarbon systems, finding and fixing leaks, and reassembly, so the system is sound and ready to return to service.

Equipment re-engineering & upgrades (condensers, chillers)

Re-engineering and upgrading existing systems, including different condenser units and chillers, to improve the process and the quality of the finished product.

Supply sourcing & consumables procurement

Sourcing butane, dry ice and other extraction consumables at highly competitive pricing through my network of specialized producers and suppliers.

Equipment selection & commissioning

Choosing closed-loop hydrocarbon equipment that fits your goals, then bringing it into service carefully and with documentation.

SOP writing & GMP/QA-QC systems

Writing SOPs and building the documentation, batch records and QA/QC structure a compliant lab runs on.

Staff training

Training technicians on equipment operation, SOPs and safety.

Yield & quality optimization

Reviewing inputs, process and post-processing to improve consistency, yield and finished-product quality.

THCa crystallization / diamond programs

Building or improving a diamond program, drawing on my specialty in the crystallization of organic compounds.

Terpene separation

Improving HTFSE and sauce workflows for cleaner separation and better terpene preservation.

Distillation

Short-path distillation workflow support, from crude prep to cut points and finished distillate.

Troubleshooting

Diagnosing problems such as cloudy product, poor crystallization, texture issues or failed tests.

Toll / contract processing

Processing on my own equipment: two 6x48 and one 8x48 closed-loop hydrocarbon columns, 200 lbs biomass/day capacity, off-grid capable.

Lab workflow audits

A review of how material, people and data move through the lab, to find bottlenecks, safety gaps and wasted steps.

Mock GMP audits

Audit readiness checks run like a real inspection, with a written gap report and priorities for fixing them.

Data capture and review

Setting up and reviewing batch records, yield tracking, run logs and KPIs, so decisions rest on good data.

Cost analysis

Cost per gram, input/output, labor and consumables, and ROI on equipment purchases.

ProcessHow it works

1

Consult call

A conversation about your goals, current setup and constraints.

2

Site assessment

On-site or remote review of the facility, equipment, workflow and documentation.

3

Plan

A written plan with priorities, scope and timeline.

4

Implementation

Hands-on work: setup, SOPs, training, process changes or processing runs.

5

Ongoing support

Follow-up, data review and troubleshooting as you scale.

FAQBefore you book

How do I choose a closed loop system?

Match capacity to your production goals, insist on third-party engineering documentation and certification, plan for solvent recovery speed and cooling (chillers or dry ice), and confirm the system fits your licensed space and local code. A consultant can help compare options.

Do you consult in New York and travel on site?

Yes. I am based in New York and travel to and live on site at licensed facilities for setup, system repair, rebuilds and process improvement.

What does a GMP mock audit include?

A walkthrough run like a real inspection: SOPs, batch records, training records, sanitation, deviations and CAPA, with a written gap report and priorities for fixing them.
